
Tulsa Men’s Tennis Falls to SMU, 4-0, Sunday Afternoon

DALLAS, Texas – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team lost to American Athletic Conference foe SMU in a 4-0 decision Sunday afternoon at the SMU Tennis Complex. The No. 20-ranked Golden Hurricane falls to an overall 7-5 record, while the Mustangs improve to 10-4 overall.
SMU's Nate Lammons and Arkadijs Slobodkins (No. 2) defeated Carlos Bautista and Juan Matias Gonzalez, 6-4, before Tulsa bounced back to tie the doubles match score at 1-1 as Dominic Bechard and Dylan McCloskey (No. 3) defeated Markus Kerner and Samm Butler, 7-5. With the doubles point on the line, Yates Johnson and Hunter Johnson (No. 1) defeated Matthew Kirby and Okkie Kellerman, 7-6, to take a 1-0 match lead going into singles play.
SMU regulated singles play as Samm Butler (No. 3) defeated Dylan McCloskey, 6-1, 6-2, before Nate Lammons (No. 2) defeated Carlos Bautista, 7-6, 6-2, to extend the Mustang match lead to 3-0. The Mustang's Markus Kerner (No. 4) defeated Majed Kilani, 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the match at 4-0.
