Tulsa Men’s Tennis Falls to No. 4 Virginia, 6-1, Thursday Afternoon

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team lost to No. 4 Virginia in a 6-1 decision Thursday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. The No. 26-ranked Golden Hurricane falls to an overall 7-6 record, while the Cavaliers improve to 11-2 overall.
 
Or Ram-Harel and Juan Matias Gonzalez (No. 2) defeated Virginia's No. 7 nationally ranked doubles team Thai-Son Kwiatkowski and Mac Styslinger, 6-4, to give Tulsa an early advantage. Luca Corintelli and Ryan Shane of Virginia (No. 1) defeated Matthew Kirby and Dylan McCloskey, 6-4, to tie the doubles match at 1-1. With the doubles point on the line, Virginia's Collin Altamirano and J.C. Aragone (No. 3) defeated Carlos Bautista and Dominic Bechard in a 7-5 decision to take a 1-0 match lead going into singles play.
 
The Cavaliers momentum from the doubles point carried over to singles play as Henrik Wiersholm (No. 5) defeated Francois Kellerman, 6-1, 6-2, before Mac Styslinger (No. 6) defeated Dominic Bechard, 6-1, 6-4, to take a 3-0 match lead. Ryan Shane (No. 1) defeated TU's Or Ram-Harel, 6-3, 6-3, to clinch the Virginia win. Majed Kilani (No. 4) defeated J.C. Aragone, 6-2, 6-4, to give the Hurricane its lone win of the day.

Tulsa will play host to #15-ranked Southern Cal on Saturday at 12 noon.
