
Berryhill Named Defensive Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa senior libero Brooke Berryhill has been named American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after helping her team to a 3-0 record and third straight tournament title this weekend at the Tulsa Volleyball Invitational. The award marks the second time this season and fourth time in her career that Berryhill has been named defensive player of the week.
Berryhill (Haslet, Texas) racked up 78 digs in 12 sets over the weekend, averaging 6.50 digs per set over the three-match span. In a 3-1 win over cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Friday evening, Berryhill tallied a weekend-best 30 digs for the Hurricane. On the season, the senior is averaging 5.48 digs per set for a total of 252 while pitching in 13 service aces.
Berryhill and the Hurricane are currently riding a nine-match winning streak heading into conference play. Tulsa will begin AAC play on Thursday as they host Cincinnati at 7 p.m. in the Reynolds Center.
