Tulsa Rowers Kick Off 2016-17 Season at Head of the Oklahoma This Weekend

The Tulsa rowers will kick off the 2016-17 season at the Head of the Oklahoma regatta this weekend on the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City. 
 
TU will race 20 boats in seven events, including the Open 1x, Open 2-, Lightweight 2x, Collegiate 4+, Open 4+, Open 4x and Collegiate 8+.
 
"The team is really excited to start the year at the Head of the Oklahoma this weekend," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "Our student-athletes have been working hard with a solid focus on improving our speed.  This will be the first chance we have to go live and see how the work is paying off."
 
"We decided to race on both days in OKC, which is something we haven't done in awhile," Harris added.  "Our staff felt it was a good chance to get some more competition for our student-athletes against some great teams.  It's also our first time back in the OG&E Night Sprints in a few years and we are looking forward to the experience of again racing under the lights in OKC."
