Volleyball Takes to the Road for Two Conference Matchups

TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Hurricane will travel for two American Athletic Conference matchups, as it takes on the Memphis Tigers and the No. 24 ranked Wichita State Shockers.

Tulsa will play Memphis on Friday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Elma Roane Fieldhouse. The Golden Hurricane leads the overall series, 13-11. The Tigers have won three of the last four matchups. Memphis was defeated by Houston on Friday, 3-0 (25-13, 25-13, 27-25). The Tigers' match vs. Tulane was postponed due to Hurricane Nate. Hannah Flowers leads the Tigers with 168 kills. Faith Myers has paced Memphis with 419 assists.

The Hurricane battles the Shockers on Sunday, Oct. 15, at 1 p.m. in the Charles Koch Arena. Wichita State leads the overall series, 28-12. This will be the first matchup between the two programs since 1999, where Wichita State won, 3-0. The Shockers are coming off a 2-0 weekend, as they knocked off Tulane, 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-16), and Houston, 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-8). Tabitha Brown leads the team with 229 kills, sixth in The American. Emily Hiebert has totaled 644 assists, third in The American.
