Tulsa Wraps Up the 2017 Campaign Ahead of Projection

Final Notes
TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team concluded the 2017 season with a 15-17 overall record and a 9-11 mark in The American Athletic Conference.
Tulsa finished seventh in The American, after being projected to finish ninth in the preseason coaches' poll. The Hurricane posted a 0-3 record against teams that made the NCAA Tournament, but recorded a 4-7 mark against teams that made the NIVC Tournament. As a team, TU led the conference with 2,229 digs, which ranked eighth in the country. Tulsa finished the non-conference portion of the season with a 6-6 record. The Hurricane produced a three-match winning streak on two separate occasions, once as it swept the Cougar Classic and once during conference play. TU tallied six 3-0 sweeps on the season, including the season finale at defending American Athletic Conference Champions SMU.
Taylor Horsfall led the conference as she set a single-season conference and program record with 755 digs, which ranked her second in all of NCAA Division I volleyball. Horsfall also led The American with 6.04 digs per set and set a single-season program mark in the process. She ranked sixth in the country in digs per set. Horsfall was named The American Libero of the Year as the conference's best libero and was named first team all-conference. Horsfall was named VolleyMob's National Player of the Week, with 83 digs. Horsfall was a three-time American Defensive Player of the Week and a two-time honor roll selection for the weekly conference awards.
Emily Thorson led the conference with 525 kills, which ranked her ninth in the country. Thorson led The American with 4.20 kills per set, good for 26th in the nation. Thorson posted a nation's best 1,710 total attacks. Thorson was named to The American First Team All-Conference. Thorson also led the conference with 561 points, which ranked her 15th in the country. Thorson was a six-time American Honor Roll recipient.
Callie Cook led the team with 113 blocks. Her 18 solo blocks ranked seventh in The American. Mariah Pardo led the team with 649 assists. Six different players produced double-doubles. Thorson amassed 16 double-doubles, Pardo posted 12, Emily Hubbard totaled seven, Lindsey Ledyard accumulated six, Ashton Anderson achieved two, and Horsfall added one.
