Tulsa’s Shamari Brooks Named to the American Athletic Conference’s Weekly Honor Roll

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa running back Shamari Brooks was named to the American Athletic Conference's weekly honor roll for his performance on Saturday.
 
Brooks, a 5'10" sophomore from Tulsa Union High School, led a Tulsa run game Saturday that gained 470 yards, the most since 2008, with a season-best 151 yards on 17 carries for an 8.9 average per carry in a 49-19 victory over UConn. Brooks gained 142 of those yards in the first half as Tulsa built a 28-13 lead. In the second half, he only played through the 1st drive of the 3rd quarter. 
 
The 100*+ game was Brooks' 4th 100-yard rushing game this season and 8th for his career. He now has a team-leading 774 yards and six TDs in 2018, while totaling 1,461 yards and 16 TDs in 17 career games.
