
Tulsa Storms Up to No. 26 in the Latest ITA Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Tulsa women's tennis team improved to 12-2 over the weekend and stormed up to No. 26 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, the ITA announced on Tuesday. Senior Ksenia Laskutova and sophomore Martina Okalova are ranked in the singles poll to lead the Hurricane.
The Golden Hurricane are on a seven-match winning streak that spans the course of two months. TU has bolstered a 1-2 record against ranked opponents, with the victory coming against, at the time, No. 16 Baylor, 4-2. Tulsa has won the last two matches, against USF and Oklahoma, by the score of 6-1.
Laskutova has rocketed into the latest poll and claimed the No. 71 spot, after previously being unranked. Laskutova has compiled a stellar 11-2 record in dual matches and has posted a 2-2 mark against nationally ranked opponents. Most recently, she defeated the No. 26 ranked player, Lily Miyazaki of Oklahoma, 6-4, 1-6 and 7-5.
Okalova fell two spots to No. 97 in the latest ranking. She has notched a 9-1 record in dual singles matches so far this season. She is riding a five-match winning streak in dual matches. Okalova has been ranked inside the top-125 for all four rankings this season.
