Golden Hurricane Is the No. 2 Seed for the American Athletic Conference Tournament

TULSA, Okla. – The American Athletic Conference announced the seedings for the 2018 conference tournament on Monday. The Tulsa women's team collected the No. 2 seed for this week's tournament.
The Golden Hurricane earned the No. 2 seed based on the current ITA Rankings. The new ITA rankings will be released on Tuesday, April 16. Tulsa is ranked No. 29. Ksenia Laskutova is ranked No. 72, while Martina Okalova is No. 117. TU enters the tournament with a 5-0 record against American opponents.
The Hurricane received a first round bye and posted a 5-0 record against American opponents in the regular season. TU will play the winner of the No. 7 Memphis and No. 10 Cincinnati match on Thursday April 19, at 3 p.m.
Anki Wind, who has a 15-4 record in dual matches and plays at the No. 1 position, leads Memphis. Tulsa defeated the Tigers, 4-2, in the last meeting in the 2014-15 season.
Ioana Guna, at the No. 1 singles spot, leads Cincinnati and has a dual match record of 8-10. In last year's conference semifinals, the Golden Hurricane defeated the Bearcats, 4-0.
