Tulsa Women’s Soccer Team Adds Three to Signing Class

Tulsa Head Women's Soccer Coach Kyle Cussen announced the addition of sophomore transfers Jada Holmes and Micaela MacKay, and junior transfer Ilana Mendonca to the 2018 signing class. 
 
Holmes, a 5-6 defender, is a red-shirt sophomore transfer from Kentucky.  She played in three games as a freshman in 2016, playing against Murray State, South Carolina and Texas A&M.  Holmes played club soccer for FC Dallas 98 ECNL, reaching the national playoffs from 2012 to 2015, including a third-place mark in 2013.  She also played for McKinney High School where she captured a District 10-5A Championship, was named first-team all-district and all-region as a sophomore, and district Defensive Player of the Year, first-team all-district and second-team all-area as a senior. 
 
A 5-6 goalkeeper from Dallas, Texas, MacKay played in seven games in goal at Jacksonville University as a freshman in 2017.  As a Dolphin, she logged 397:45 in goal, picking up 18 saves and owning a 1.13 goals-against average.  She played club soccer for the Dallas Texans ECNL and D'Feeters ECNL, where she helped her team finish as the runner-up at the 2014 ECNL National Championship.  MacKay also played for Bishop Lynch High School, where she led her team to a Texas 5A State Championship as a junior and earned TAPPS 5A all-state and all-district honors.  She also captured the Texas 5A State Championship as a freshman while at Ursuline Academy.
 
Mendonca, a 5-5 forward, led ASA Brooklyn to an 11-1-2 mark and a berth in the 2016 NJCAA District E Championship, while tallying 18 goals and six assists for 42 points.  For her efforts, she was tabbed to the NJCAA All-America honorable mention team as a sophomore, and picked up Region XV team accolades her freshman season.  Mendonca played for the Brazilian Women's U16 National Team, including an appearance in the 2015 Universiad Championship.
