WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Golden Hurricane volleyball team fell to No. 23 Purdue in the Reamer Club Premier championship match in Holloway Gym on Saturday, 3-0 (25-9, 25-11, 25-23).

Despite the loss, the match marks the third time in head coach Ryan Wills' five-year tenure the team has started the season 2-1.

In set two, Purdue again pulled away after a back-and-forth battle in the first half of the set, taking the frame, 25-11. Junior Taylor Horsfall commanded the back row, managing 10 total digs through two frames.

The Golden Hurricane got off to a hot start in the third set, going up 8-5 as a result of a pair of three-point runs. The Boilermakers would use a pair of 3-0 runs of their own in the middle of the frame to edge out TU, 25-23. Moore and Savadove again led the way offensively, adding four kills in the final set.

As a team, Tulsa combined for 25 kills, 37 digs and 24 assists. Mariah Pardo and Lindsey Ledyard each tallied 11 assists in the loss. Horsfall and Savadove were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts.
