TULSA, Okla. —
Tulsa hit a season-high 14 3-pointers, but Cincinnati rallied in the final minute of regulation and took a 70-65 overtime victory on Thursday night at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

DaQuan Jeffries led the way for the Golden Hurricane (11-5, 1-2), who saw its 15-game home winning streak snapped, with 14 points and a 3-of-3 effort behind the arc. Jeriah Horne and Elijah Joiner each hit a pair of 3-pointers on their way to 11 points apiece.

Tulsa shot 41.3-percent for the game and totaled 17 assists on its 19 field goals, but committed 22 turnovers. The Hurricane also held a 36-33 edge on the glass.

"We played good enough to win," head coach Frank Haith said. "I thought our guys battled. We're just disappointed."

"We have a very competitive league and we can't get too high in our wins or too low in our losses," Horne said. "We have to continue to stay focused, move on to the next one and string some wins together."

Meanwhile, Cane Broome came off the bench to score a game-high 16 points to go along with six assists for the Bearcats (13-3, 2-1). Jarron Cumberland and Keith Williams each added 14 points and Cincinnati shot 41.5-percent, but hit four of its five shots in the overtime.

After two buckets from the Bearcats to start the second half, Tulsa went on an 8-0 run with two triples from Curran Scott and a jumper by Horne to take a 34-32 lead. The home squad would not trail the rest of regulation and led by as much as 57-51 with 1:16 left.

But Broome scored the last seven points for Cincinnati, including a jumper with 1.2 seconds left to tie the game and send it to overtime.

In the extra session, Cumberland's old-fashioned three-point play gave the visitors a 64-63 lead and it ignited a 10-2 run to close out the 70-65 win.

In the opening half, Cincinnati led by as much as 10 points midway through the period. After a slow start shooting the ball, Tulsa outscored the Bearcats 15-7 over the final seven minutes of the period to trim the halftime deficit to just 28-26.

Tulsa will have a quick turnaround as it will travel to Dallas, Texas, for a 5 p.m. matchup with SMU (10-5, 2-1) on Saturday, Jan. 12.
