PITTSBURG, Kan. — The University of Tulsa track and field squad heads back to the Robert W. Plaster Center on Saturday to compete in the Pittsburg State Invitational.
The Golden Hurricane will travel most of the team, 46 athletes in total (27 men and 19 women) to compete in the one-day meet. In addition, Saturday will be the first time in the indoor season Tulsa gets to showcase its distance medley relay prowess.
The meet is scheduled to begin with the morning session track events at 9:30 a.m. CT, starting with the women's 5,000-meter run. Field events are set to kick off at 11 a.m. with the weight throw, running throughout the day.
The final event scheduled for the meet will be the women's and men's distance medley relay, set for 8:40 and 8:55 p.m. CT, respectively.
Head coach Steve Gulley's squad is coming off another impressive performance at the Arkansas Invitational on January 11. Freshman Jaidyn McCallon managed a 56.11 in the 400 meters in the meet, good enough for No. 34 in the NCAA at the time, a conference lead in the event and earned her American Indoor Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
