Tulsa Men's Tennis Captures Pair of Wins in Doubles Play to Start ITA Central Regional Championships

NORMAN, Okla. - The Tulsa men's tennis team captured a pair of wins in the doubles main draw on Thursday to start the 2019 ITA Central Regional Championships. The championships, which are being hosted by Oklahoma and played at the Headington Family Tennis Center, feature 16 teams from across the region.

The Golden Hurricane started the morning off by competing in doubles competition. Kody Pearson and Juan Pablo Cenoz, who are the seventh seed in the tournament, went the distance and won in a tiebreak over Iowa's Jason Kerst and Morgan Lohan, 8-7 (1). It marks the tandem's second win of the season.

Daniel Siddall and Ezequiel Santalla played their first match together of the year against Nebraska's Andre Saleh and Shunya Maruyama. The 16th-seeded Golden Hurricane paced to an 8-3 victory.

Stefan Hampe and Tom Thelwall-Jones, the 11th seed in the doubles main draw, also played in a tiebreaker. The sophomore duo would fall to Nick Campbell and Mac Mease of Creighton, 8-7 (7).
