Box Score
STORRS, Conn. - Three Golden Hurricane finished with double-doubles on Sunday, as the Tulsa volleyball team suffered a four-set loss to UConn [20-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-11] at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion.

The Golden Hurricane (13-10, 6-4 The American) remain tied for third in the Western Division, following their loss to the Huskies (9-13, 3-7).

The Golden Hurricane would lead by as much as six points at 13-7 in the first set. UConn would fight back, cutting Tulsa's lead to two at 20-18. Following a TU timeout, the Huskies committed a service error, giving Tulsa the next serve. Dilara Gedikoglu capitalized on the next two possessions with back-to-back kills for a 23-18 advantage. Hannah Overmyer tallied a pair of kills over the final three points to win the opening game, 25-20.

Tulsa would tie the second set at 1-1, but that's as close as the Golden Hurricane got until late in the game. The Huskies used a 12-3 run to go on top, 13-4. Trailing by double digits late in the set, Tulsa scored seven of eight points, trimming the deficit to five at 23-18. Both teams exchanged the final three points, as UConn netted the match at 1-1. Gedikoglu had six kills in the set, and Overmyer added four.

The Golden Hurricane erased a three-point deficit at 4-1 in the third set, as they outscored the Huskies, 11-4. UConn responded with a 7-1 run, as they took back the lead at 20-16. Back-to-back Husky errors inched Tulsa closer to another tie. However, the Huskies executed on four of the next five plays to have set point at 24-19. Gedikoglu would have the hot hand for Tulsa, as she had three consecutive kills during a 4-0 TU run. That brought the Golden Hurricane to within one at 24-23.

After holding a 4-3 advantage in the fourth set, the Huskies erased Tulsa's lead. Following a 6-6 tie, UConn never trailed the rest of the way. Tulsa came to within two points at 10-8, but a 9-0 Husky run was too big to overcome.

Three Golden Hurricane finished with double-doubles. Gedikoglu finished with her 10th double-double of the season, leading Tulsa with 19 kills and adding 17 digs. Roosa Rautio led Tulsa with 21 assists, to go with 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the campaign. Mariah Pardo added 15 dimes and chipped in 12 digs for her fourth double-double this year.

Taylor Horsfall led all players with 22 digs. Maddie Flora also recorded double-figure digs, adding 10.

The Golden Hurricane continue their four-game road trip on Friday, Nov. 1, when they travel to Houston to face the Cougars at 7 p.m.
