Oklahoma State was too much for Tulsa in the second half as the Cowgirls claimed a 78-48 victory in front of 1,487 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center Wednesday night.

Tulsa led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but its 8-point halftime lead quickly dissolved as OSU was dominant in the final 30 minutes, out-scoring the Hurricane 47-9.

"We told our guys at halftime that they were going to come at us harder and be more physical so you have push back and be more physical and we weren't.  We weren't physical, we let them dictate the tempo, we let Vivan Gray get loose and do the things she can do," said Tulsa head coach Matilda Mossman.

Kendrian Elliott had her 3rd double-double in as many games with 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Hurricane, while Alexis Gaulden added 11 points, all coming in the first half. Tulsa shot 36-percent in the first half and just 10-percent in the second, while the Cowgirls knocked down 32-percent in the first 30 minutes and in the second half was 18-of-37 for 49-percent from the field.

OSU was led by Vivian Gray's 24 points, while Ja'Mee Asberry added 21. Natasha Mack had a game-high 20 rebounds to go along with 13 points for the Cowgirls.

The Cowgirls came out of the intermission on fire and turned its halftime deficit into a 12-point lead at the end of the 3rd quarter. OSU scored the first 11 points of the 3rd period, taking its first lead since 14-12 late in the 1st quarter, when Abbie Winchester put the Cowgirls ahead 40-39 with a layup at the 5:48 mark.

Addison Richard's 3-pointer ended the Tulsa drought, but the Cowgirls would go on to outscore the Hurricane in the 3rd stanza 26-6. OSU didn't let up there, holding Tulsa to just 3 points in the final stanza while tallying 21 4th period points.

Tulsa was solid in the first half en route to its 8-point advantage by knocking down 7-of-9 treys and out-rebounding OSU 26-24.

To start the contest, Tulsa jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Cowgirls tied it up at 5 apiece. Gaulden knocked down her second 3-pointer to give Tulsa an 8-5 lead and increased that advantage to 10-5 before OSU knotted the score at 10.

The Cowgirls took its first lead of the game at 14-12 with 0:57 left in the quarter before Tulsa scored at the 0:38 mark to end the first stanza tied 14-14.

Elliott and Gaulden had Tulsa's only points in the fist 10 minutes with 8 and 6, respectively.

Maddie Bittle added to Tulsa's soring with the first points of the second quarter for a 16-14 advantage. From that point, the Hurricane went on a 12-4 run to take a 28-18 lead at the 5:12 mark of the period.

OSU cut its deficit to 5 points with 2:02 on the clock before Morgan Brady and Elliott knocked down 3-pointers to push Tulsa's lead back to 11 points, 39-28 at the 0:20 mark. OSU's Ja'Mee Asbury hit a 3-pointer at 0:00 to bring the halftime score 39-31.

Tulsa will be back home next Thursday for the Mayor's Cup game against crosstown rival Oral Roberts. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
