TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa volleyball team and head coach Ryan Wills announced the addition of four members to the 2020 signing class on Thursday.

"This class has been coming together for a long time," Wills said. "It's a very athletic group that will continue to elevate our quickness in the gym, but the best part of this group is their drive to be great."

Justyus Jackson is the first of two middle blockers in the TU 2020 signing class. Jackson is a native of Davenport, Iowa, where she attended Davenport North High School. The four-year letterwinner earned honors from the Mississippi Athletic Conference in each season of competition, including First Team All-MAC recognition this year. She registered 588 total kills during her career.

The second signee in the 2020 class is Avery Kalsu, a setter from Dripping Springs, Texas. Kalsu competed at Dripping Springs High School, where she accumulated 764 kills, 3,115 assists, 170 service aces, and 1,508 digs. Kalsu is a four-time Academic All-District recipient. She was awarded the District 26-5A Setter of the Year in 2017. In 2018, she was named the VYPE Texas Utility Player of the Year and helped the Tigers to a state semifinals appearance. The four-year letterwinner also competed all four years on the track & field team. As a freshman, she ran a school-record time of 57.33 in the 400-meter dash.

The third signee for the Golden Hurricane is Regan Pendleton, a middle blocker/right side hitter from Edmond, Okla. Pendleton competed at Edmond Memorial High School, where she totaled 1,383 kills, 129 service aces, 454 digs, and 250 total blocks. As a freshman, she helped the Bulldogs to a state championship. The four-year letterwinner is a two-time Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference selection, and has received All-Conference Honorable Mention twice.

The fourth and final signee of the 2020 class is Bella Zapata. Zapata hails from Chandler, Ariz., where she was a four-year letterwinner at Hamilton High School. Over the past two seasons, the defensive specialist/libero has appeared in 239 sets, tallying seven kills, 56 service aces, and 944 digs. During her junior campaign, she received All-CUSD and 6A - Premier Conference Honorable Mention.

The Golden Hurricane (15-12, 8-6 The American) have secured a bid to the inaugural American Athletic Conference Tournament, beginning Friday, Nov. 22, in Orlando, Fla. Tulsa's seeding will depend on how the final week of competition in The American plays out.

Tulsa heads on the road for the final week of regular season action, beginning with Wichita State (7-19, 4-10) on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to Cincinnati (22-5, 13-1) to face the Bearcats on Sunday at 12 noon.
