Okla.The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad (5-3) continues a stiff stretch of competition this weekend, playing host to Central Arkansas on Saturday and No. 8 UCLA on Sunday inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
 
The Golden Hurricane will face off with the Bears on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT in its first match of the weekend. Central Arkansas is 2-1 on the season, picking up wins over Alabama A&M and Mercer, but falling to No. 25 Auburn, 4-3, last week.
 
In Sunday's match against the Bruins, UCLA enters the weekend 2-0, earning sweeps over Minnesota and Loyola Marymount. Tulsa and UCLA have met once in 2010, in which the Bruins picked up a 4-1 win to qualify for the ITA Indoor Championships.
 
Students at Sunday's match against UCLA will receive a free TU drawstring bag while supplies last.
 
Heading into this weekend, head coach Dean Orford's bunch sits at 5-3 overall. TU went a perfect 3-0 in the Hurricane Invite, along with picking up two victories over Arkansas Pine-Bluff and Oral Roberts.
 
The team is led by lone senior Martha Matoula, whom is 5-1 overall at the No. 2 singles spot, along with 6-2 in No. 2 doubles with partner Shura Poppe.
