TULSA
, Okla. – The University of Tulsa men's tennis team (8-2) is scheduled to square off with No. 6 Texas (7-0) on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, followed by a Sunday feud with Cornell (2-2), with first serve set for 10:30 a.m. CT inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Friday's match with Texas will be the 20th meeting in program history, while Texas leads the overall series by a 17-2 margin. However, one of the two losses came the last time the Longhorns traveled to Tulsa, in which the Golden Hurricane defeated the then No. 4-ranked Texas, 4-3, on Jan. 20, 2017.

To cap off the weekend, TU will play host to Cornell at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday inside the Case Tennis Center. Sunday's match will mark the first in program history between the Big Red and the Golden Hurricane.

Thus far in the young dual season, Tulsa is receiving votes in the latest Oracle ITA national team rankings. The team's 8-2 start to the spring season is the best start to a year since the 2008-09 season, in which head coach Vince Westbrook's squad started the year 9-1.

Among those eight wins, the Golden Hurricane have already picked up a ranked victory this season, defeating No. 14 TCU in Tulsa on Jan. 18, 4-2.
