Tulsa Set for Two Sunshine State Conference Clashes This Week

TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis squad (11-6) looks to nab two conference victories this week, traveling to USF (8-7) on Wednesday and No. 28 UCF (15-2) on Friday.
Tulsa will tussle with the Bulls on Wednesday at 12 p.m. CT. USF enters the week with a 8-7 overall mark, currently sitting on a two-match win streak. The Bulls are led in singles by No. 43 Ana Roman Dominguez, who boasts a 10-2 mark at the No. 1 position.
On Friday, TU will head to Orlando, Florida, in search of revenge against No. 28 UCF at 4 p.m. CT. The Knights have already defeated Tulsa once this season at the ITA Kick-Off tournament, picking up a 4-1 win in Evanston, Illinois.
For Tulsa head coach Dean Orford's squad has tallied a 11-6 record in the dual season. In its last time out, the team swept Bradley at home for the team's eighth sweep of the season.
The Golden Hurricane is led by senior Martha Matoula in singles, who boasts a 11-2 mark in solo play. Matoula is 4-0 at the No. 1 spot, also boasting a 7-2 mark at the No. 2 position. Martina Okalova is the lone TU athlete ranked in singles at No. 76, while Okalova and Vera Ploner still rank among the nation's best in doubles, slotted at 14th overall.
