The home finale and senior day didn't go as scripted for the Tulsa women's basketball team as the ECU Pirates overcame a double-digit deficit and pulled out a 64-60 victory in front of 1,119 fans on Saturday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tulsa (12-16, 6-9 AAC) led at the end of each of the first three quarters, including 17-13 after the first period, 35-24 at halftime and 48-40 at the end of three. The Pirates outscored the Hurricane by 12 points in the final period, 24-12, to take home the victory.

Sophomore Rebecca Lescay led Tulsa with 15 points, while junior Kendrian Elliott and freshman Desiree Lewis each added 10 points off the bench as the Hurricane reserves outscored the Tulsa starters 35-25. Lescay and Lewis came off the bench today, giving way in the starting lineup to seniors Jasmine Butler and Tyjae' Scales for the final home game of their careers.

ECU's Lashonda Monk led four Pirates double-figure scorers with 15 points, while Raven Johnson had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

In the final period, Morgan Brady's three-pointer at the 9:17 mark put the Hurricane ahead by 11 points, 51-40, but ECU began nipping away at its deficit.  The Pirates outscored Tulsa 10-3 over the next 4:15 to make the score 54-50 at the 5:02 mark.

ECU took its first lead on a 3-pointer by Johnson with 1:26 remaining to give the Pirates a 62-59 lead. Tulsa finished out the final 1:09 of the contest going 0-of-4 from the field and 1-of-4 from the free throw line.

"They just dominated us in the fourth quarter.  They shot 60-percent, we shot 15-percent, and we couldn't get in a rhythm offensively.  Our guys lost focus, and ECU kept pressuring us and got offensive rebounds," said Tulsa head coach Matilda Mossman.

For the game, ECU shot 40-percent from the field and 30-percent from 3-point range, while TU shot 38-percent from the field, 16-percent from 3-point range and 52-percent from the free throw line.

Tulsa's lead reached double-digits in each of the final three quarters, reaching the highest of 13 points in the third period, 39-26, at the 8:06 mark.

In the first quarter, Tulsa took a 4-0 lead before ending the period ahead 17-13 with three ties during the first 10 minutes. The Hurricane increased its lead to 11 points at halftime, 35-24, while outscoring ECU in the paint 12-2 in the second stanza.

At halftime, Tulsa shot 44-percent from the field and was out-rebounding the Pirates by 11 boards, 28-17. Lescay and Elliott shared the team-lead for first-half scoring with eight points.

Tulsa closes out the regular season Monday at Wichita State at 6:30 p.m. The Hurricane will begin play in the American Athletic Conference Championship this coming Friday.
