Tulsa Duo Ranked No. 14 in Latest Oracle ITA Doubles Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Tulsa women's tennis tandem of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner were ranked 14th in the latest Oracle ITA doubles rankings, the organization has announced on Wednesday.
 
The Golden Hurricane own a 7-3 mark at the No. 1 spot for the Golden Hurricane heading into this weekend's matches.
 
Junior Martina Okalova was ranked 76th overall in singles, earning a 5-4 record in solo play in the dual season. Okalova was also named this week's American Athletic Conference Women's Player of the Week for topping No. 17 Silvia Ambrosio in straight sets last weekend.
 
Head coach Dean Orford's bunch is 10-5 this season and ranked No. 47 as a team, already facing off against a slew of nationally-recognized teams. To this date, TU has squared off with five top-25 opponents in 2019.
 
The team as a whole is a strong 8-2 inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center this season, including picking up a 3-0 record in the Hurricane Invite and victories over Arkansas and Purdue in Tulsa.
 
This weekend, the Golden Hurricane travel to Norman for an in-state rivalry match with No. 34 Oklahoma on Friday, followed by a Sunday home matchup with Bradley.
