Two special days on the last weekend of the regular season propelled the Golden Hurricane to the Western Athletic Conference championship in 1998-98. Tulsa was facing a two-game road trip in the MetroPlex, first with SMU and then at TCU, needing two wins to stay in what was a jam-packed race for the conference title.
