DES MOINES, Iowa — After winning the distance medley relay a season ago, the Tulsa track and field team will return to Iowa for the 110th rendition of the Drake Relays, running Thursday through Saturday.

The Golden Hurricane will send athletes to compete in 16 different events at the historic meet, taking part in 7 men's and 9 women's events.

Tulsa will kick off action on Thursday with the distance carnival portion of the meet, starting with the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 7:08 p.m. and ending with the 5,000 meters at 7:33 p.m. CT.

Head coach Steve Gulley's squad will return Friday for its first event at 10 a.m. CT, beginning with the women's long jump. TU will compete in select races and field events throughout the day, closing Friday with the men's 4x800-meter relay at 8:12 p.m. CT.

The team will wrap up its trip on Saturday with two more events on the men's and women's side, taking part in the distance medley relay and sprint medley relay at approximately 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. CT, respectively.

Tulsa claimed its first Drake Relays distance medley relay title a season ago, as the quartet of Mark Middleton, Bailey Stewart, Grey Howard and Robert Tully rallied from behind to take gold in 9:42.75.

Live results will be available for the 110th Drake Relays here.

In the team's last time out, TU sent a select group to California to take part in the Mt. Sac Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational, as well as sending two athletes to the John Jacobs Invitational in Norman. Tulsa made the most of its opportunity, claiming seven top-10 TU all-time marks on the weekend.
