Tulsa’s Kayla Fernandez Selected to Mexico U20 National Team

Tulsa incoming freshman Kayla Fernandez was selected to the Mexico U20 National Team, and will participate in three games across the Midwest in preparation for the 2020 FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which will take place next summer.
 
The Mexico U20 team took on Northwestern on Sunday, April 7, and will face Notre Dame on April 11 and Purdue on April 13.
 
Fernandez is a 5-3 midfielder from Niceville, Fla. She was a member of the U17 Mexican National Team training camp, as well as the Florida State team and Region III pool for five years, and was a Region II Team selection in 2018.  Fernandez also played club soccer for the Sunrise Sting, helping her team claim the 2018 State, Regional and National Championship, and was a four-year letterwinner at Niceville High School.
