Tulsa Rowing Races in The American Championship in Oklahoma City on Friday

The Tulsa rowing team, along with the American Athletic Conference, will host the American Athletic Conference Rowing Championship on Friday, May 17, at the US Rowing National High Performance Center located at 732 Riversport Drive in Oklahoma City, Okla.  Click here for a regatta map.
 
The regatta, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, has been moved up due to pending inclement weather.
 
"We are very excited to be hosting the conference championship so close to home, and it is a real opportunity to show off what we are doing as a rowing team," Head Coach Kevin Harris said.  "It is important to bring these championships to Oklahoma to give our fans a chance to come out and support the Golden Hurricane.  I know our student-athletes are excited about rowing close to home, as well as race on a course we know really well."
 
The regatta will feature a Varsity 4+, 2nd Varsity 4+, 3rd Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+, 2nd Varsity 8+ and 3rd Varsity 8+ race.
 
Old Dominion, San Diego State, SMU, Temple, Tulsa, UCF and UConn will all be vying for The American's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Championship.  Sacramento State will not be competing in the championship due to the date change.
