Has it hit me yet that this is my senior year …
Yes. I'd like to say that after the last game last season I began to change my focus and alter the way I approach games. Understanding that this is the last season that's I can rely on to get me to where I want to go – to the NFL.
What do I want to accomplish my senior year …
Overall, I want to go to a bowl game.
Hashtag to sum up my first four years…
#STRIVE. I feel like I've had a lot of obstacles and situations here, but I've made the best out of it and strived to accomplish the goals that I've always wanted in life. Although that's still ongoing, I'm still striving.
What I like most about football …
It is the fact that you can be physical without punishment.
So defensive end is ideal for me …
Yeah. Ideally. If I could play linebacker to gain a little more momentum before my tackles, but yes coming off the line works fine.
My basketball career …
I played basketball all the way up to college. Basketball was the first sport that I loved, but I loved football too. I really enjoyed basketball more, but when it got closer to college I knew I had to make a decision and I felt that I could do bigger and better things in football so that's the course I decided to take.
My role model …
My older brother Thomas Gipson is my role model. Just seeing him go through high school and college, it transformed me into following the right direction for the most part. Seeing him get a Division I scholarship, sort of put pressure on me to do the same. I realized how he's consistently working and also doing the same as me – trying to achieve his goal.
The best athlete – Trevis vs. Thomas …
If I'm being totally honest … for quickness and agility, it would probably be me; but for power and maybe physicality, it would be Thomas.
The best advice I received from Thomas is …
Don't stop.
My favorite NFL player and role model …
Von Miller. He's a really respected guy. He's responsible. He plays football fast and he's more focused on making the play then he is the guys standing in his way.
Favorite NFL team …
Seattle Seahawks
I wish that I could meet my grandfather …
He passed when I was extremely young, about 3-years-old (Thomas Gibson). He played for the Oakland Raiders. I've heard a lot of great stories about him that's why I'd like to meet him.
When I knew I wanted to play college football …
It wasn't until my senior year. When Tulsa first offered me, I was waiting on an offer from football or basketball and ultimately. I was going to base my decision on that. But once Tulsa offered me it was a wrap. The spring of my junior year is when Tulsa offered me. It ended up being my only offer too.
Hashtag to best describe myself …
It's #Goofy. I don't know why. I can't stop laughing a lot of times. I smile a lot too. Outside the lines #Goofy is what it would be.
I like to swim…
I enjoy swimming. It gets me out of the house. I also look at swimming as a recovery method.
Favorite animal… It's the lion. Lion is the king of the jungle and is ferocious and dedicated. That's how I want to be on the football field.
