TULSA, Okla. –– Raising awareness and finding a cure for Alzheimer's is dear to the hearts of University of Tulsa head football coach Philip Montgomery and his wife Ashli.

As Tulsa's Annual Fan Fest takes place this Saturday, the Montgomery's are hoping to also use this week to raise funds benefiting the Tulsa Walk to End Alzheimer's. The Montgomery's will match up to $10,000 in donations received from today thru next Monday, August 19.

The Montgomery's passion for the fight against Alzheimer's is in the memory of Ashli's Grandma Syble and Coach Montgomery's Granny, who both died with Alzheimer's Disease. They both continue to strongly advocate and fundraise for the fight in hopes of helping Coach Montgomery's mom, Sandra Jean Montgomery.

The matching gift by the Montgomery's is their way of jump-starting the giving, encouraging participation, and kicking off the celebration that culminates with this year's Tulsa Walk on September 21st at Veterans Park.

To donate, go to http://act.alz.org/goto/TEAMSANDRAJEAN

At Saturday's Fan Fest, fans will have an opportunity to donate to the Walk to End Alzheimer's and the ability to purchase tickets for the opportunity to win a handmade TU Quilt.

TU's Annual Alzheimer's Awareness Game is set for Friday night, Nov. 8, as Tulsa hosts two-time conference champion UCF at H.A Chapman Stadium.
