TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa football team moved its practice session to the afternoon, getting on a more normal schedule that the Golden Hurricane will follow throughout the season.
Tulsa also turned more of its focus to preparations for season-opening opponent Michigan State on a day where practice the thermometer reached 100-degrees. Temperature at the start of practice was 97-degrees with a heat index of 100, while practice ended at 100-degrees with a heat index of 114.
"There was a little more focus today on Michigan State. We obviously got reps against each other, but the second half of practice we did more on Michigan State," said Montgomery.
"We switched practice to the afternoon, as we're kind of preparing us to go back to school and get on a more normal schedule. We got a lot of heat today. I thought our guys did a good job of handling it, but we have to continue to keep getting used to it," Montgomery added.
Tulsa will be back on the practice field Tuesday afternoon.
