Cenoz Advances to Singles Main Draw at Legacy National Bank NWA Tennis Series

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Tulsa freshman Juan Pablo Cenoz advanced to the singles main draw at the Legacy National Bank NWA Tennis Series on Wednesday. The series, which is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour features a single-elimination tournament is being held at the Billingsley Tennis Center at Arkansas.
The Argentinian faced Diego Nava of the United States in his third-round qualifying draw. Cenoz, the No. 4 seed, won the opening set 6-3, before a 3-6 setback forced a tiebreaker. He would win the tiebreaker 10-7 to survive another day.
Fellow Argentinian and TU freshman Ezequiel Santalla also competed on Tuesday, as he took to the court against Kiranpal Pannu of New Zealand. Santalla, who was slotted at the No. 8 seed, suffered a 6-4, 6-2 in the final round of the qualifying draws.
Cenoz will compete against Sherif Abohabaga of Egypt in the round of 32 on Wednesday, Sept. 18. at 9:00 a.m.
