TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa cross country teams will return to action on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 21, when they run at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.

The men's 8K race will begin at 8 a.m. before the women's 6K run at 8:30 a.m. at Shelby Farms.

The meet features a total of 21 teams, including a pair of American Athletic Conference foes (Cincinnati, Memphis) joining TU. The Golden Hurricane men rank 30th in the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll and TU is the only ranked squad at the competition.

The Tulsa men's contingent will include 13 runners, including five who will make their first appearance since last fall's NCAA Championships. That group includes Isaac Akers, Scott Beattie, Adam Breaux, Cameron Field and Peter Lynch. Meanwhile, Jerik Embleton, Greg Fehribach, Michael Gates, Tyler McGinnis, Reed Sahadevan, Jackson Schwartz and Henry Williams will all run their second race of the fall, after they collectively finished third at the Hurricane Preview on Aug. 31.

Additionally, freshman Patrick Dever will make his TU debut in Saturday's race.

The Golden Hurricane women's squad will consist of nine runners, which includes six of the team's seven student-athletes from last year's American Athletic Conference Championship runner-up lineup. Ashley Barnes, Caitlin Klopfer, and Caroline Miller are part of that group and the trio made their season debuts at the Hurricane Preview.

Reagan Hausmann, Jenny O'Bryan and Alice Newcombe round out that group of six, while Adrena Mazzei and Alyssa Solberg also ran at the Hurricane Preview three weeks ago. Rounding out the women's lineup for this weekend is Kat Pesendorfer, who will make her TU debut.
