THE GAME
• This is the 12th meeting between Tulsa and Temple and the 10th as American Athletic Conference members.
• This game is the first contest of the new decade for the Hurricane ... it is also the first conference game of the 2019-20 season for Tulsa.
• Temple is 9-3 on the season ... Temple comes into Friday's match-up after their first conference win against UCF on New Years Eve ... Temple has key wins over USC and Texas A&M.
• This will be the first of two games that the Hurricane and Owls will play this season ... Tulsa will travel to Temple on Wednesday, March 4.

• Tulsa has a 8-3 series lead ... the Hurricane is 5-0 at home against the Owls and 3-3 on the road.
• The Hurricane and Owls split the series last season as both teams won on their home courts.

• Tulsa was led by Martins Igbanu and Curran Scott with 15 points apiece ... Sterling Taplin also scored 11.
• Taplin became the 38th Hurricane player to score over 1,000 career points finishing with 1,004 be the end of the contest.
• The Hurricane trailed 31-30 at halftime and kept the game close until a late 12-2 run by Temple secured them the victory … Temple had 19 assists to Tulsa's 10 … Temple shot 50.8-percent from the field to Tulsa's 41.8 percent.
• The Owls were led by Shizz Alston Jr., who led all scorers, with 24 points and Quinton Rose added 23 points.

• The Hurricane took on the Owls at home on Feb. 9, 2019, as Tulsa won 76-58.

• Former Temple star Aaron McKie is in his first season as his alma mater's head coach following 13 years with Fran Dunphy as the Temple coach.
