
Tulsa Women's Tennis Ranked No. 36 in ITA Team Rankings; Okalova Ranked in Singles + Doubles with Ploner

TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team earned its first ranking of the 2020 season on Tuesday, as the No. 36-ranked team in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Women's Team Rankings. The organization announced the rankings on Tuesday.
The Golden Hurricane (8-3) are among 49 other teams currently ranked in Division I women's tennis. In the previous standings, only the top 25 teams were recognized, including teams that were receiving votes. Last season, TU finished the year as the No. 56-ranked team.
Tulsa also features one player ranked in the top 125 singles rankings and a doubles tandem in the top 60. Martina Okalova fell eight spots to No. 92 overall. She stands at 13-5 overall in singles with an 8-2 mark in the No. 1 position. She is also ranked in the doubles poll, alongside Vera Ploner. The All-American senior tandem dropped nine spots to No. 43 overall. They are 18-6 overall in doubles and 9-1 at No. 1 doubles.
The Hurricane hit the road for their final road dual match of the regular season on Tuesday, February 25, when they take on No. 42 Kansas (3-4) at 4 p.m.
