TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa men's tennis team aims to add four wins to its overall record this weekend, as the Golden Hurricane (7-4) are scheduled to play a pair of matches on Friday and Sunday. The action gets underway on Friday at 3:30 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas, as Tulsa takes on No. 18 Texas Tech, followed by a 7:30 p.m. matchup with New Mexico State (6-4). Both matches will be held at the McLeod Tennis Center. On Sunday, the Hurricane return to Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of TU to host Omaha (3-6) and local rival Oral Roberts (4-5) at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.

Tulsa had a strong performance a week ago, posting a 2-1 overall record. The Hurricane started the week by defeating Arkansas in a 4-3 thriller. They then traveled to Ithaca, New York, where they took on No. 16 Cornell and Binghamton this past Sunday. The Hurricane pushed four singles matches to three sets against the Big Red, but suffered a 4-2 loss. TU ended the weekend playing the Bearcats in just singles, ultimately sweeping Binghamton, 6-0.

The Red Raiders went 2-1 last weekend, as they competed in the Blue Grey National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Alabama. Texas Tech suffered a 4-2 loss to then-No. 48 Alabama, but ended the weekend strong with a 4-1 win over then-No. 27 Middle Tennessee and 4-0 defeat of Fresno State. Friday's match will be the second of the day for the Red Raiders, as they host New Mexico State at 9:30 a.m. Texas Tech has won four straight against Tulsa, but the Golden Hurricane have secured two of the last four wins in Lubbock. They feature three ranked singles players and one doubles team in the latest Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men's Rankings. Their singles lineup includes - No. 53 Parker Wynn, No. 74 Ilgiz Valiev and No. 123 Reed Collier. Wynn and Bjorn Thomson stand at No. 55 overall in doubles.

The Aggies also competed in a tournament a week ago, as traveled to Corpus Christi, Texas for the H-E-B Tournament of Champions. New Mexico State secured wins over Troy (4-3) and Eastern Washington (4-1), but fell to Texas A&M - Corpus Christi, 4-0. This is the first meeting between the two programs since 2005, when Tulsa departed the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) for Conference-USA.

The Mavericks spent last weekend in Waco, Texas, where they suffered losses to then-No. 26 Baylor (7-0) and Grand Canyon (6-1). This is the third straight season the two teams have met, with the Golden Hurricane winning the previous two contests in Tulsa. Omaha is currently on a three-match losing streak, but is set to play Oral Roberts on Friday.

Tulsa has dominated its series over the Golden Eagles with 19 consecutive wins overall. ORU saw its three-match streak snapped last Friday, following a 4-2 loss at Kansas City.
