
Tulsa Women's Tennis Inks Leonor Peralta Dias de Oliveira to National Letter of Intent

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team signed Leonor Peralta Dias de Oliveira to a national letter of intent for the 2020-21 season on Thursday, as announced by head coach Dean Orford. Peralta Dias de Oliveira is set to join the Golden Hurricane squad this fall.
"We're extremely excited Leonor is joining a storied program like Tulsa," said Orford. "We feel she'll contribute immediately. With her background, she's a perfect fit for our team both academically and athletically."
A native of Lisbon, Portugal, Peralta Dias de Oliveira has appeared in multiple national championships. She was on the U14 and U16 national champion teams in 2016 and 2018, while also competing on the U15, U16 and U19 vice-national champion teams. In 2016, she won both the U14 singles and doubles championships. In total, Peralta Dias de Oliveira has appeared in four singles national championships since 2014, going 2-2 overall. Amongst doubles competition, her record is a perfect 2-0 in championship matches.
On the national level, Peralta Dias de Oliveira captured four European winter cups, three summer cups and two European championships. Against international competition, she recently won the ITF G5 vale do lobo doubles title in 2019.
Peralta Dias de Oliveira has achieved a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 10 and earned her best International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking of 1,214. In the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), she solidified her best rankings of 1,223 in singles and 936 in doubles.
