We caught up with women's tennis coach Dean Orford to recap the shortened 2020 season.
The Tulsa women's tennis team concluded its 2020 spring schedule at 9-4 overall as six players eclipsed double-digit wins during the campaign, led by freshman Laia Conde Monfort with a 17-5 record. Shura Poppe had the second-most singles wins with a 15-9 record, while Martina Okalova had a 14-6 singles mark. In double's competition the team of Okalova and Vera Ploner had a team-best 19-7 record.
Unfortunately, the season came to an abrupt end not allowing the doubles tandem of Okalova and Ploner the opportunity to return to the NCAA Championships the site of where the duo earned All-America honors in 2019.
