TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane volleyball team will play a 10-game conference schedule with all five Western Division American Athletic Conference opponents in the 2020-21 season, as announced today by head coach Ryan Wills.

" We are grateful to compete this season and hopeful to be able to complete this schedule. It is a unique season that will require flexibility and focus as we look to capitalize on each match," said Wills, "The AAC west has strong teams, and we will have many great matchups. With only two spots available in the conference tournament, it will be a battle each and every match."

Tulsa will host Wichita State to begin the season on Thursday, Feb. 11 and Friday, Feb. 12 in the Reynolds Center.  The Hurricane and Shockers split the season series in 2019, as TU defeated Wichita State 3-1 in the Reynolds Center behind 10 kills from Kayley Cassaday.

The Hurricane will travel to Memphis on Feb. 19 and Feb. 20 for the first road series on the season.  The Thursday match against the Tigers is slated for 7:00 p.m., while the Friday time is set for 4:00 p.m.

After a bye week, Tulsa will host the Houston Cougars on March 5 and March 6. The Cougars finished tied for fourth last season with a 16-17 (10-6 AAC) record; the Hurricane split the series with Houston last season winning on the road 3-1 but falling at home 3-1.

TU will travel to Dallas, Texas on March 12 and 13 to take on SMU, who was picked to win the Western Division in the AAC Preseason Coach's Poll with 52 of the possible 55 points. SMU features two All-Conference Team selections in Outside Hitters Hannah Jacobs and Rachel Woulfe.

Tulsa will host Tulane in the Reynolds Center for the final series of the season on March 26 at 4:00 p.m. and March 27 at 1:00 p.m. Roosa Rautio shined against the Green Wave last season averaging 26 assists, 8.5 digs and an ace in the two contests.

The American Athletic Conference tournament will feature the top two teams in each Division. The Hurricane was picked to finish 5th in the West Division in the Preseason Coach's Poll. UCF was selected to win the conference and East Division, while SMU was selected to win the West side of the AAC. The AAC Championship is set for April 2 and 3rd in Cincinnati, Ohio.
