Tulsa Men’s Tennis Team Grabs 7-0 Win Over ORU

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's tennis team went 2-0 on Friday, winning early in the day 6-1 over Illinois State and closing out the day against cross-town rival Oral Roberts with a 7-0 victory at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Hurricane evened its season record to 2-2 and will return to the court on Sunday at 2 p.m. to face Omaha.

Tulsa swept all three double matches to take a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

In singles, Connor Di Marco was the first to finish by claiming a 6-3, 6-0 win over Marcello Moreira at flight 2. Stefan Hampe gave the Hurricane a 3-0 lead with his 6-1, 6-4 win at the No. 3 spot.

Daniel Siddall's win at the No. 5 spot gave Tulsa a 4-0 lead to clinch the victory for the Hurricane team with scores of 7-6 and 6-2. Ezequiel Santalla at No. 1, Tom Thelwall-Jones at the No. 6 spot and Juan Pablo Cenoz each went to third set tie-breakers for their victories to give the Hurricane the shutout.
