Rachal Named Naismith Trophy Jersey Mikes Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. - Senior Brandon Rachal named Jersey Mikes Naismith Trophy Player of the Week, it was announced today.
Rachal averaged 22.5 points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in Hurricane wins over No. 5-ranked Houston Cougars and the Cincinnati Bearcats.
The senior knocked down 2 free throws with 0.1 seconds left in the game to defeat the Cougars. The win was the first top-5 victory in the Reynolds Center, and the first top-5 victory for TU since defeating UCLA in overtime in 1996.
With 12 seconds left against Cincinnati, Rachal knocked in consecutive free throws extending Tulsa's lead of 2 points to 4. The Hurricane defeated the Bearcats for the first time in Cincinnati since 1967.
Tulsa is back in action Wednesday as it travels to Tampa, Fla. to take on the USF Bulls on Jan. 6 at 3:00 p.m. CT.
