Tulsa Men’s Soccer Team Returns to Action on Sunday Against South Florida

Tulsa's fourth-ranked men's soccer team returns to action taking on South Florida on Sunday, October 3 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
Tulsa will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Night with the raffling off of this year's Hispanic Heritage Night Honoree Tony Rocha's New York City FC jersey. Rocha, along with his NYC FC teammates, signed the jersey for the raffle which benefits the Tulsa Dream Center. Tamale Boyz food truck will be at the game and the first 100 students to show their student ID will receive an order of tacos. They will also be giving out 200 Mexican ice cream bars to fans.
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com/tickets or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688.
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on ESPN+. TU fans can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball games. The Golden Hurricane is ranked fourth in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, seventh in the United Soccer Coaches poll and eighth in the College Soccer News poll.
Tulsa has a program-best 8-0 mark on the season, including a 3-0 mark in American Athletic Conference play and are coming off a 2-1 double overtime win over sixth-ranked SMU on Wednesday. TU ranks first in the nation in won-lost-tied percentage (1.000), sixth in goal differential (15), ninth in scoring offense (2.50), 25th in shutout percentage (0.500), 18th in team goals-against average (0.608), 40th in shot accuracy (0.471), 18th in saves percentage (0.828), 18th in total goals (20), 21st in points (59) and 28th in assists (19).
Ten players have scored a goal for Tulsa, including a team-best seven goals by Alex Meinhard, four goals by Malik Henry-Scott and two goals by Takayoshi Wyatt, while seven others have one score. Alex Lopez has logged 649 minutes between the posts, picking up 19 saves for a 0.792 saves percentage and allowing five goals for a 0.69 goals-against average.
USF has a 2-5-1 mark on the season, including a 0-3 mark in American Athletic Conference play. Henrique Gallina, Gabrielle Privitera and Andres Freire all have a team-best two goals. Ralph Montero and Kazuna Takase have combined for 744 minutes in goal, 17 saves for a 0.515 saves percentage and allowed 16 goals for a 1.93 goals-against average.
USF has a 7-3-3 lead in the all-time series with Tulsa, but it was the Golden Hurricane that captured a 5-2 win earlier this season in Tampa.
