Brooks, Wright Named to AAC Football Honor Roll

IRVING, Texas –– Shamari Brooks and Justin Wright were named to the American Athletic Conference's Honor Roll this week for their performances in Saturday's 35-29 victory over Memphis.
Brooks, a 5'8" running back from Tulsa's Union High School, had his second 100+ rushing game of the season with 126 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries against the Tigers. Brooks scored the game's first TD on a 13-yard run and the first TD of the second half to put Tulsa ahead 21-13.
In the 4th quarter with Tulsa leading 28-21 and looking to run time off the clock, Brooks gained 34 yards on five carries on Tulsa's seven-play, 75-yard drive to go ahead 35-21
Wright, from Abilene, Texas, earned the weekly honor roll mention after collecting a career-high 14 tackles.
The 6'2" linebacker added two tackles for -8 yards, one sack for -7 yards and forced a fumble that led to a Tulsa touchdown that put the Hurricane ahead 21-13.
Tulsa travels to Tampa, Fla, to take on the South Florida Bulls in a 12 p.m. (ET) /11 a.m. (CT) kickoff. The game will air on ESPNU.
