Tulsa Takes Titles in Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+ at the Tulsa Fall Invitational

CATOOSA, Okla. – The Tulsa rowing team won two of three races against the three-time Division II National Champions Central Oklahoma in the Tulsa Fall Invitational on Saturday at the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest in Catoosa, Okla.
 
In the Varsity 8+ race, Chloe Henderson, Madlen Markova, Sarolta Papp, Karen Undset, Anna Shaw, Bass Andre, Millie Brice, Johanna Kristof and Ermioni Lamprianidou turned in a top time of 16:48.66.  The Golden Hurricane boat topped UCO's 'A' boat by nearly 22 seconds with their time of 17:10.27.  Tulsa's 'B' boat was third in a time of 17:22.37, while the Bronchos 'B' boat was fourth with a time of 19:00.47 and TU's 'C' boat finished in a time of 19:19.53.
 
UCO captured the Novice 8 victory with a time of 20:29.79 to Tulsa's time of 21:39.93. Tulsa's Novice boat was crewed by Elizabeth Pennybaker, Vanja Bogdanovic, Molly Morris, Chassi Dowdy, Kathy Childress, Taylor Hopkins, Laurel Martich, Ireland La Munyon and Aubree O'Rear.
 
The Hurricane 'D' boat with Erica Taylor, Johanna Kristof, Helena Gutzmer, Robine Van Doorn and Kyra VanderWeele captured the win in the Varsity 4+ with a time of 18:48.56, while Tulsa crews also took third, fourth and fifth place.
