TULSA, Okla. –– University of Tulsa placekicker Zack Long was named to Phil Steele's All-America fourth team.

Long is tied for the nation's lead for field goal percentage (95.0), while converting 19-of-20 field goals and 32-of-33 PATs this year. His only miss was a 50-yarder, coming in the same game in which he converted a career-long 50-yard field goal against No. 2-ranked Cincinnati.

He also is ranked 14th in the country for field goals made per game. Long is first in American Athletic Conference for field goals made per game and field goal percentage, fourth for kick scoring (7.4) and seventh for overall scoring.

Long's journey to college football and All-America status has not been a traditional one. He never played football until joining the Golden Hurricane team.

The 6'2" Long played prep soccer at Eureka Park High School in Missouri and following graduation enrolled at Tulsa. He was in his sophomore year when he joined the team as a walk-on in the spring of 2019 and on August 29, 2021, just days before the Tulsa season opener, Long was informed that he was placed on scholarship.

Long has made 7-of-7 from 40 yards and beyond, 6-of-6 from 20-29 and 5-5 between the 30-39-yard lines. In his career, Long has made 31-of-34 field goals to rank ninth on the school's all-time field goals made list. He has also kicked through 57-of-59 career point-after-attempts.

Long and his Golden Hurricane teammates will play Old Dominion on Monday, Dec. 20, in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.
