Tulsa Women’s Tennis Falls to Oklahoma State

TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision against the 22^nd-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls Saturday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Tulsa fell to 6-4 on the season, while the Cowgirls improved to 6-5.

OSU took a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. The nation's No. 22-ranked team of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner took a 6-1 win at the No. 1 position, while OSU grabbed wins at positions 2 and 3 to take the early lead in the match.

The Cowgirls won the first three singles matches at the No. 4, 1 and 5 positions to clinch the win. Tulsa's Lian Benedejcic put Tulsa on the board with a 7-5, 6-3 win at the No. 6 spot, before OSU won the final two matches for the for the final margin of victory.

Tulsa will host cross-city foe Oral Roberts next Saturday, March 20, at the Case Tennis Center. Match time is TBA.
