TULSA, Okla. –– The Tulsa women's tennis team improved to 7-4 on the season with a 7-0 victory over the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Hurricane began the match by taking the doubles point from the Golden Eagles.

Tulsa's No. 22-ranked tandem of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner made quick work at the No. 1 doubles position with a 6-0 win. The Hurricane clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 by Shura Poppe and Valeryia Rozenkova. The Hurricane also claimed a win at the No. 3 slot by Gabriella Charalampidi and Megan Hopton by a score of 6-2.

Laie Conde Monfort gave the Hurricane a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the No. 2 singles spot, then Lian Benedejcic put up Tulsa's next point with an identical 6-0, 6-1 win at the sixth position. Ploner, playing at the No. 4 spot, gave Tulsa its match-clinching fourth win with the same 6-0, 6-1 score.

Okalova posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at the No. 1 position to give the Hurricane a 5-0 lead. Poppe at No. 3 and Rozenkova at No. 5 gave Tulsa the clean sweep.

Tulsa will play two home matches next week as the nation's 30^th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders come to the Case Tennis Center on Wednesday, March 24, with a 3 p.m. match time, followed by Wichita State on Friday at 6 p.m.
