ORLANDO, Fla. –– The 46th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to the 18th-ranked UCF Knights on Monday afternoon at the USTA National Campus. The match was delayed for 4 hours and 15 minutes due to rain and wet courts.

Tulsa ends the regular season with a 13-6 record, while UCF improved to 15-4 as the two teams head into the American Athletic Conference Championship later this week.

Tulsa won the first two singles matches after UCF claimed a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point.

Valeryia Roozenkova evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 win at the No. 5 spot, while the Hurricane took a 2-1 lead when Tulsa's Laie Conde Monfort defeated the nation's 28th-ranked Rebeka Stolmar in straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-4 at the No. 2 singles position.

UCF racked up wins at the No. 4, 3 and 5 spots to clinch the 4-2 victory for the home team.

Despite losing the doubles point, Tulsa's No. 1 tandem of Martina Okalova and Vera Ploner, ranked 77th nationally, upset the nation's 44th-ranked team of Marie Mattel and Rebeka Stolmar for Tulsa's lone doubles victory.

Tulsa opens play in the AAC Championship this Thursday, April 22, in Orlando, Fla.
