The Tulsa women's soccer team battled Missouri State to a 2-2 double-overtime tie on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 1-2-1 on the season, while the Bears also moved to 1-2-1 overall.

"It is a bit disappointing," Tulsa Head Coach Jim Rhein said.  "We went up 2-0 in the first 20 minutes, but then put ourselves behind the eight ball and had to work our tails off to get a tie out of it.  Missouri State is a good team and we worked hard, but it is part of the process we are going through in learning how to win and how to manage games.  We can take positives from today."

Isold Runarsdottir put the Golden Hurricane on the board off a combination from Karsen Aguirre and Liliana Fernandez at the 9:49 mark.  Fernandez then added a score in the 17th minute as she went one-on-one with a defender and shot from right to left from 12 yards out.

Anna Durnin got one back for the Bears as she drilled in a score from 30 yards out after battling a defender in the 29th minute, and Tulsa maintained that 2-1 lead at the break.

Kennady Orlick evened the score, 2-2, at the 61:29 mark as she headed in a cross taken by Grace O'Keefe from one yard out.  Both teams battled for the remainder of regulation and two overtime periods, but neither team found the back of the net ending the game in a 2-2 tie.

Fernandez finished the game with one goal, one assist and a team-best four shots, while Runarsdottir and Aguirre both had three attempts, and Jadyn Chee and Emilie Torres both had two shots.  Emma Malsy logged all 110 minutes in goal and picked up three saves.

Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, September 2, at Central Arkansas beginning at 7:00 pm in Conway, Ark.
