Tulsa's fifth-ranked men's soccer team recorded a 1-0 win over Memphis on Friday night at the Billy J. Murphy Soccer/Track and Field Complex in Memphis, Tenn.  The Golden Hurricane moved to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Tigers fell to 1-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the league.

"I thought we started out the game well," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "I thought we moved the ball pretty well, our forward play was good, we combined pretty well and created some good chances, but I think we can get better.  We wanted to limit their set piece opportunities with our defense and our possession and I thought we did that.  We showed good patience with the ball and it was good to get the goal.  Henry did a good job of tucking it away.  In the second half it was a stressful game.  They hit the post three times and they had some dangerous opportunities.  I'm proud of our guys for not giving in.  I'm always proud of the guys for their work ethic and their intent physically and mentally, and for that we can hold our heads high."

Henry Sach drilled a penalty kick into the bottom center of the net to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead at the 21:33 mark for his first goal in a TU uniform.  Takayoshi Wyatt was fouled in the box, which set up the penalty kick for Sach.

Malik Henry-Scott and Wyatt both had a team-best four shots, while Austen Schweinert had two attempts.  Alex Lopez logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save for the clean sheet.

Tulsa will return to action on Wednesday, September 29 as they host #7 SMU beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
