Tulsa Men’s Soccer Team Hosts Top-10 Battle with SMU on Wednesday

Tulsa's fourth-ranked men's soccer team will play host to sixth-ranked SMU on Wednesday, September 29 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. 
 
Materials will be available for Tulsa fans to create their own signs for the game and the Tulsa Soccer Club will be in attendance.
 
Tickets are $5 general admission and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, online at TulsaHurricane.com/tickets or by calling the TU Athletic Ticket Office at 918.631.4688. 
 
Fans unable to attend the match in person can watch it live on ESPN+.  TU fans can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball games.  ESPN+ is offered at $6.99/month or $69.99/year.  To subscribe, go to plus.espn.com.  Fans will be able to access ESPN+ content only after they have subscribed.
 
The Golden Hurricane is ranked fourth in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, seventh in the United Soccer Coaches poll and eighth in the College Soccer News poll.
 
Tulsa has a program-best 7-0 mark on the season, including a 2-0 mark in American Athletic Conference play.  TU ranks first in the nation in won-lost-tied percentage (1.000), fifth in goal differential (14), eighth in scoring offense (2.57), 16th in shutout percentage (0.571), 17th in goals-against average (0.571), 18th in shot accuracy (0.510), 20th in saves percentage (0.833), 21st in goals (18), 24th in points (52) and 28th in assists (16).
 
Ten players have scored a goal for Tulsa, including a team-best five goals by Alex Meinhard, four goals by Malik Henry-Scott and two goals by Takayoshi Wyatt, while seven others have one score.  Alex Lopez has logged 540 minutes between the posts, picking up 16 saves for a 0.800 saves percentage and allowing four goals for a 0.67 goals-against average.
 
SMU is ranked sixth in the Top Drawer Soccer poll, 12th in the United Soccer Coaches poll and 13th in the College Soccer News poll.
 
SMU has a 5-0-2 mark on the season, including a 2-0 mark in league play.  Gabriel Costa has team-bests of six goals, five assists and 17 points, while Papa Ndoye has four goals and Jose Ortiz had three.  Cole Johnson has logged all 670 minutes in goal, picking up 14 saves for a 0.737 saves percentage, and allowed five goals for a 0.67 goals-against average.

SMU has a 32-12-4 lead in the all-time series with Tulsa.  The two teams split last season with each winning on their home field.
