The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to South Florida in double overtime on Friday night at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane fell to 5-5-1 on the season and 0-2 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Bulls moved to 7-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.
The two teams battled for nearly 109 minutes before Madeleine Penman-Derstine punched in a rebound attempt off her own shot that was saved by Raegan Beeding at the 108:52 mark.
Beeding logged all 108:46 between the posts and picked up seven saves. Mia Darden and Megan Nielsen both had two shots for TU, while six others had one attempt.
USF had a 20-10 lead in shots, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal, and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Tulsa will return to action on Thursday, September 30 against Temple beginning at 6:00 pm in Philadelphia, Pa.
